The Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Michigan Institute of Athletics integrates; self-defense techniques, conditioning and skill oriented games aiming to improve confidence, learn respect and the value of hard work. Belt ranking is earned, not awarded.

Fun
It's not all fun and games, except for when it is. Play and overall fun is a key motivator to engaging students. We take fun seriously by including skill based games and activities to both build fundamentals and conditioning.

What age range is the program designed for?
The Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is designed for kids ages 6-14 with kids 15 and up being part of the adult program where they train with other kids their age and size.
Do you over a free trial?
Yes, we offer a 1 week free trail. Come in 15 minuites before any class to complete the waver, get a tour of the institute and meet the coach.
Do we need any special equipment?
No, the Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Michigan Institute of Athletics is a "no-GI" program. Athletic clothing should be warn.
How do you track rank?
Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Michigan Institute of Athletics follows the IBJJF monthly ranking system for kids. Kids that signup for a month or more will receive their white belt, have their name added to the technique board and test their technique as part of class. Kids are awarded stripes on their belt as they progress along their belt color.
